Tilos and the Dodecanese in general are connected
to the port of Piraeus. From Tilos you can also visit
the nearby Dodecanese islands, the Cycladic islands
and Crete through other ports.

Your trip to Tilos can be with a conventional ferry
boat or Highspeed depending on the day, the time
and the ferry company you wish to travel with.

If you select to visit Tilos with the conventional
ferry your trip will take about 15-17 hours while with
a Highspeed ferry 11-13 hours depending on how
many ports the ferry will call at on the way.

Ferries from Piraeus to Tilos run all year round
on a daily basis. In summer of course there are more departures to choose from.

TILOS > OVERVIEW

Tilos is a small islet of the Dodecanese which is located between Nisyros and Halki. The land is rocky with the exception of a small valley in the middle of the island.

The capital is Megalo Horio that unfolds on the abrupt slopes of a hill. On the top of the hill is an ancient castle that was built by the Knights of Agios Ioannis. Other settlements on the island are: Livadia, next to the harbour, Eristos, a quiet isolated village; Mikro Horio, built on the hills above Livadia and the picturesque traditional village of Agios Antonios.

Tilos’ beaches cater for all tastes: towards Agios Panteleimona is the beach of Plakas, the largest beach is located below the valley of Eristos and close to Livadia is Lethra and Skafi Beach accessible by a path beginning at Megalo Horio.

The island offers calm relaxing holidays with archaeological interest with its ancient, Byzantine and paleontologic discoveries, the latest of which is the Harkadio cavern where fossils of dwarf elephants were found.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

From today, August 13, 2020 a new decree by the Italian Minister of Health has come into force providing the following alternative measures which apply to people entering Italy after staying in, or transiting from Croatia, Malta, Greece or Spain in the last 14 days:

a. Obligation to present a certificate showing a negative result of a swab, done within the 72 hours prior to entry in Italy.

or

b. Obligation to undergo a molecular or antigen test carried out through a swab upon arrival at the Italian airport, port or border place, where possible; or carried out, within 48 hours from entering the Italian territory, at the competent Italian National Public Health clinic. In this latter case, while waiting for the examination test, people are due to wait in fiduciary isolation at their place of residence or dwelling.

All people, regardless of symptoms, entering Italy from the above mentioned countries are due to immediately inform the Prevention Department of the competent Italian National Health office about their arrival. In the event of outbreaks of symptoms of Covid 19, the obligation of immediate information to Italian Health Authority (through the relevant phone number) as well as of self-isolation remain into force.
