Interesting sights here include the ruins of the ancient city with Hellenic and Roman buildings near in the harbour, the Archaeological Museum in Plateia Eleftherias, the Knights Castle in the harbour, the platano of Hippocrates and the Asklipeio that is 4 km from the town.

Kos’ beaches are large and sandy. Kardamaina with its beautiful landscape and aquamarine waters, Tigkaki, Marmari, Kefalos and Paradise are just a few of the many beaches on the island.
