Syros and the Cyclades in general are connected
to the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. From Syros
you can also visit the nearby Cycladic islands of Ios, Santorini, Kimolos, Naxos, Anafi, Amorgos etc.

In addition, there are ferry connection from Syros
ferry to the islands of Crete, Rhodes, and basically all Dodecanese and East Aegean Islands via a third island.

Your trip to Syros can be with a conventional ferry
boat, by Highspeed or Flying dolphin depending on
the day, the time and the ferry company you wish
to travel with.

If you select to visit Syros with the conventional
ferry your trip will take about 3-4.5 hours while with
a Highspeed ferry 1.5-2.5 hours depending on how
many ports the ferry will call at on the way.

SYROS > OVERVIEW

Syros is the capital of the Cyclades group of islands. It had been an urban centre since the 19th century, with strong naval connections, flourishing economy and a strong cultural identity, with significant historical people such as Markos Vamvakaris, Theofilos Kairis, Georgios Souris etc. Its many elegant neoclassical mansions are well maintained and have led to the island being categorised as the ‘Sovereign of the Aegean’. In Ermoupoli one will find the impressive Town Hall, the Apollo Theatre that is the ‘Scala of Milan’ in miniature, the Custom House at the end of the harbour, the Ladopoulou Palace, the social club ‘Greece’ and many other imposing mansions that today accommodate museums, public services, hotels and various enterprises.

There are few beaches, but they are all beautiful, while the settlements have managed to maintain their nobility and traditional character. Syros offers a well-developed tourism infrastructure with elegant, luxurious hotels, tavernas and restaurants of high quality, rooms and villas for rent and a casino.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

From today, August 13, 2020 a new decree by the Italian Minister of Health has come into force providing the following alternative measures which apply to people entering Italy after staying in, or transiting from Croatia, Malta, Greece or Spain in the last 14 days:

a. Obligation to present a certificate showing a negative result of a swab, done within the 72 hours prior to entry in Italy.

or

b. Obligation to undergo a molecular or antigen test carried out through a swab upon arrival at the Italian airport, port or border place, where possible; or carried out, within 48 hours from entering the Italian territory, at the competent Italian National Public Health clinic. In this latter case, while waiting for the examination test, people are due to wait in fiduciary isolation at their place of residence or dwelling.

All people, regardless of symptoms, entering Italy from the above mentioned countries are due to immediately inform the Prevention Department of the competent Italian National Health office about their arrival. In the event of outbreaks of symptoms of Covid 19, the obligation of immediate information to Italian Health Authority (through the relevant phone number) as well as of self-isolation remain into force.
