The port of Tinos is one of the most crowded ports in Greece. Due to the church of Panagia Evangelistria the visitors to the island are thousands. The port which is now used by the ferries is the Exo Port, the new port of Tinos which is 10 minutes away from the old port.

Tinos, because of its many churches, is famous for its religious tradition. The most important one is the church of Panagia Evangelistria. Thousands travel each year to worship the icon of the Virgin Mary which is hosted in the church. On August 15th the faithful fulfill their vow to the Virgin Mary starting on their knees from the port to reach the entrance of the church.
Tinos is full of whitewashed mountain villages with impressive architecture, such as Kardiani, Steni and Pyrgos. In Tinos you will have a great vacation, you will see many important monuments and you will enjoy a lively nightlife.
The most organized beaches of the island, such as Agios Romanos, Agios Ioannis, Kionia, Agios Fokas and Porto are close to the center. For more isolated beaches, head to the northern part of the island.
