In the northern part of the island there are the ruins of Poseidon's Temple, which was built in 520 BC.
The main Temple was built in Doric style, though some of its columns were Ionian. It was in this temple that Dimosthenis tried to hide himself from Phillip of Macedonia.
Ancient Settlement
In the Kavos Vasili area, in the northern east part of the island, is located the ancient settlement of the early Copper era.
This settlement is the oldest one that has been discovered to date in Troizina. It is possible that this ancient settlement is connected historically to the discovery of the sunken ship that was found off the island of Doko which dates back to the same period.
