Kavala

Kavala is a beautiful seaside city in northern Greece. It is the main port of eastern Macedonia and one of the most picturesque cities in all of Greece. The city is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mount Symvolo in the bay of Kavala.

The old town of Kavala, Panagia, is full of amazing historic buildings, some of which have been carefully preserved and have beautiful architecture reflecting the town's long history. The city was originally a prominent commercial hub for tobacco. The exquisite neoclassical palaces and tobacco warehouses that still exist today are evidence of its former era.

The main passenger port of Kavala "Apostolos Pavlos" is conveniently located approx. one kilometer from the city's center and is accessible both on foot and by car. You can take a ferry from the port of Kavala to the Cyclades, northeastern Aegean Sea islands and the port of Lavrion in Athens. Moreover, Kavala has regular ferry routes to the island of Thassos.
