Chora

The town of Zakynthos extends in an irregular circle -somewhat amphitheatrically in the centre- across the eastern slopes of the Castle hill. The city was destroyed by the earthquake in 1953, but in a few years, Zakynthos was rebuilt having new impressive structures trying to keep the same form it had before the earthquake. The road next to the beach is the most cosmopolitan part of the island during summer. Café shops, taverns, and tourist shops attracts a lot of tourists and habitants.

Exo Hora

Exo Hora is a small mountain village about 35 km East of the capital, preserving a sense of history through having some of the oldest houses on the island and providing a great chance to see authentic Zakynthian architecture.

Maries

Maries is a large green mountainous village with its famous three-aisled church which was built in the 15th century and was dedicated to Mary Magdalene. Quiet and relaxing with magnificent view, this is the perfect place for a romantic night out.

Keri

Keri is in the southwest of Zakinthos and is about 15 km from the capital city. It has a rich history having been referred to in the past, by Herodotus who praised the area for its combination of sea, pine forests, valleys and streams and it was also a popular haunt for pirates. Today Keri is renowned for the quality of its olive oil and wine; reputed to be the best on Zakinthos.
