BEACHES

Plaka

Plaka Beach Tilos Dodecanese Greek Islands Greece

It is located 2.5 km west of Agios Antonios, on the way to the monastery of Agios Panteleimonas.

Secluded from buildings or amenities, the beach of Plaka is pebbled and quite green. It is long enough to provide privacy to those in need of it. Behind the beach there is the field of Plaka, which used to belong to the monastery of Agios Panteleimonas and products of which were exported to nearby islands.

Livadia

Livadia Beach Tilos Dodecanese Greek Islands Greece

It is the island’s port and is located on the southeast side of Tilos.

It is a sizeable beach with large pebbles in and out of the sea. It is the most developed beach on the island and the most crowded. There are tall trees providing shade along most of the beach, from inside the settlement all the way to the medieval port of Agios Stefanos, on the east side of the cove.

Eristos

Eristos Beach Tilos Dodecanese Greek Islands Greece

It is located 3 km south of Megalo Horio. It is considered the island’s best beach. It is a very wide sandy beach 1200 meters long. There are trees providing shade while in some other spots the sea is colder due to the waters of several springs that run into sea.

Agios Antonios

Agios Antonios Beach Tilos Dodecanese Greek Islands Greece

It is located 2.5 km west of Megalo Horio in the Agios Antonios settlement. The distance from Livadia is 9 km.

The coastal settlement of Agios Antonios with 20 permanent inhabitants, used to be the port of Tilos. Apart from the sandy beach next to the picturesque little port, one can also swim at a pebbled and rocky beach right outside the settlement on the way to Agios Panteleimonas. What is worth mentioning about this beach is the ancient, Byzantine cemetery, which is now covered by the sea but some of its remains can be discerned underwater when weather permits.
