Folklore Museum

The folklore museum on the island is accommodated in an old residence in the settlement of Arbanitochori and is made up of two rooms, a bedroom and the lounge. The spaces are furnished and decorated in accordance with local tradition, while various objects of daily use from the past are exhibited. Even though much effort has been put into the acquisition and exhibition of the objects a lack of sufficient money makes it impossible to develop other parts of the building. For this reason there are many objects that remain in storage.

Archaeological Collection (Museum) of Kasos

The archaeological museum is found in Fri.

Recently the old City Hall in Fri has been renovated and a specifically designed area now accommodates the interesting exhibits from antiquity and the period of revolution of 1821. The archaeological Collection of Kasos includes discoveries from the entire island. Nevertheless, in particular some ancient currencies from the Cavern Ellinokamaras are looked after in the archaeological museum of Chania, in Crete.
