BEACHES

Kasos’ coastline is full of all sorts of beaches. It is impossible for a visitor to Kasos not to find a beach to suit his taste. Some are rocky, ideal for diving, while others are sandy making them perfect for summer sports. There are large and small pebble beaches too, organised or isolated.

Armathia

Among Kasos’ beaches there is one near the islet of Armathia which stands out. Its’ unforgettable view is an incredible combination of tropic and Cycladic landscape. A lot of people consider it, and not unfairly, to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. The beach in Armathia is accessible only by boat, something that gives the visit, apart from the beauty of the location, a tone of romanticism.

There are many more beaches on the island which are only accessible by boat, however, there are no regular itineraries to them. However, if you decide to find your way to any of these beaches you will realise that it is really worth your while.

Emporeios

In Emporeios there is an organised beach, where you will find two taverns and a cake shop, everything that is needed for a full summer’s day.

Helatros

In the southern part the best known beach is that of Helatros with its natural harbour, which in the antiquity was used by Minoan seamen. The beach is always protected from the winds, while in the open sea there are unique waves making this a small paradise for all those who love windsurfing.

Ammoua

On the western side of Kasos there is the beach of Ammoua, in the region of Antjperatos, where four solitary beaches are found, with pebbles of all colours, ideal for those who want peace and quiet.
