Magic Sea Ferries - Geschäftsbedingungen

Es ist empfohlen, dass Sie mit den Allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen der Fährgesellschaft, mit der Sie reisen, vollständig vertraut sind.Nachfolgend finden Sie die offiziellen Bedingungen, die für Ihre Buchung und Reise mit Magic Sea Ferries gelten.Wenn Sie weitere Erläuterungen benötigen, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren persönlichen Fährbuchungsexperten.

The ticket holder of the company agrees and accepts that the transportation will be carried out according to the following terms of the company.

Tickets

Passenger tickets are personal, valid for the route and date issued, and are non-transferable.

For the issuance of the ticket and the recording of passengers traveling with passenger ships to or from Greek ports (Directive 98/41/EC/1998) and according to Presidential Decree 23/1999 and its amended provisions in Presidential Decree 102/2019 (A 182), the recording of passengers is required. Personal tickets issued must include: the passenger’s surname, the passenger’s full name, date of birth, gender, and nationality.

Persons with special needs or those requiring special care must declare this during the reservation or ticket issuance process.

During the reservation and ticket issuance process, passengers are requested to provide their mobile phone number (including the four-digit country calling code) and their email address to enable the company to communicate with them in case of emergency, e.g., prohibition of ship departure due to adverse weather conditions. In case of refusal to provide or incorrect declaration of these, the company is not responsible for not informing them if necessary.

For the reservation and issuance of vehicle tickets, the vehicle’s registration number is required.

Business, Prime Economy, Economy, and Super Economy tickets have assigned seat numbers indicated on the ticket.

Holders of electronic tickets board the ship by showing them.

Ticket Issuance Deadline

During the reservation, a ticket issuance deadline is automatically granted by the system. After the deadline, if the ticket has not been issued, the reservation is automatically canceled.

Open-Date Tickets

Holders of open-date tickets must make a reservation to travel based on the availability of the route.

Holders of open-date tickets traveling in a higher fare class must pay the fare difference. Holders of open-date tickets traveling in a lower fare class are not entitled to a refund of the difference.

Validity Duration of Open-Date Tickets

Tickets issued as open-date tickets and tickets converted to open-date tickets are valid for one year from the date of issue.

Ticket Cancellations

According to the Passenger Rights Charter in maritime transport, Law 4150/2013, and the company’s cancellation policy regarding the cancellation time of the ticket, the following apply:

Up to 14 days before the scheduled date and time of travel:

  • Full refund without cancellation fees, or
  • Change to open-date tickets, or
  • Change to new travel date tickets.

Up to 7 days before the scheduled date and time of travel:

  • 75% fare refund, or
  • Change to open-date tickets, or
  • Change to new travel date tickets.

Up to 12 hours before departure:

  • 50% fare refund, or
  • Change to open-date tickets, or
  • Change to new travel date tickets.

Fare refund without cancellation fees for proven reasons of force majeure.

Up to 3 hours before departure:

  • Change to open-date tickets, or
  • Change to new travel date tickets.

Fare refund without cancellation fees for proven reasons of force majeure.

Less than 3 hours before departure: Tickets cannot be converted to open-date tickets or new travel date tickets.

Conversion of tickets to open-date tickets or for a new travel date can only be done for proven reasons of force majeure.

After departure

No fare refund.

Tickets cannot be converted to open-date tickets or new travel date tickets.

Cancellation of Open-Date Tickets

Open-date tickets are canceled without cancellation fees if they were initially issued as open-date tickets.

Tickets converted to open-date tickets are subject to the cancellation terms that apply to the original tickets.

Fare refunds are made only by the agencies that issued the tickets.

Lost Tickets

In case of ticket loss, the passenger must notify the company in writing at info@greekferries.gr to issue a new ticket.

Persons with Special Needs

Persons with special needs or those requiring special care must declare this during the reservation or ticket issuance process. The ships have boarding ramps and specially designed seats to serve passengers with special needs. Due to the limited number of these seats, please make reservations in advance.

Children up to 5 years old

Tickets for children up to 5 years old are issued with zero fare.

Boarding Procedure

Passengers must have their tickets, necessary travel documents, and be at the boarding area of the ship half an hour before departure, or one hour before departure if traveling with a vehicle.

Passenger Control

Ticket control is conducted during boarding and the journey. During the check, passengers must show their tickets.

For discounted tickets, passengers must show the documents corresponding to the commercial discounts of their tickets.

Children & Unaccompanied Minors

Children up to 15 years old cannot travel unaccompanied.

Children 15 to 18 years old can travel unaccompanied provided they carry, in addition to the documents required of all passengers, a completed parental or guardian consent form. In the absence of this form, the company will deny boarding to the minor.

Schedules

The company’s schedules are officially announced, posted on the website, and listed in promotional materials.

The company reserves the right to cancel or modify them if deemed necessary.

Arrival times refer to the arrival time at the outer port.

Delay of Schedule Due to Force Majeure

Passengers board the ship without the need for ticket replacement.

Cancellation of Schedule Due to Force Majeure

Tickets for canceled schedules must be replaced for passengers to travel on another schedule.

AFV Vehicle Tickets

According to the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy Circular No. 2070.0/28541/2024 regarding additional measures for the transport of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) with passenger-vehicle and freight-vehicle ships, please note:

a) For purely electric or rechargeable hybrid vehicles, the battery temperature must be checked, and the charge level should be up to 40% of their total capacity.

b) For other alternative fuel vehicles, such as LPG or natural gas, their tanks should not contain more than 50% of their total capacity.

Passengers-drivers must immediately inform the ship’s crew in case of any alarm indication from their vehicle.

Loading of AFVs with a malfunction in their fuel system or tanks/batteries (if they have not been removed) is not allowed. The responsibility for ensuring that the vehicle does not have damage or malfunction in the fuel system, tanks, or batteries lies solely with the vehicle owners, and the shipping company may ensure this in any way it deems fit.

Finally, the charging of electric and rechargeable hybrid vehicles on the ship is not allowed, and it must be ensured that they are not connected to any power source on the ship.

Pets

Transporting pets from 01/03/2022 is governed by Law 4039/2012-Government Gazette A15, which concerns the full registration of information in the National Pet Registry.

Passengers traveling with pets must declare the necessary information during the reservation/ticket issuance process.

Passengers traveling with pets must carry the updated health booklet of the pet.

The ships have special areas for pets.

Pets are not allowed in enclosed spaces on the ship.

Passengers traveling with their pets are solely responsible for their safety, hygiene, and care.

Pets cannot travel without a companion.

Luggage

Passengers can carry luggage up to 50 kg or a volume equal to one cubic meter.

Special areas are provided on the ship for luggage transport.

Valuables can be handed over for safekeeping at the ship’s accounting office.

The company bears no responsibility for damage or loss of luggage, valuables, or money in the ship’s storage areas.

The transport of flammable and dangerous materials is strictly prohibited.

Smoking Ban

Smoking is prohibited in all enclosed areas of the ship (Health Ministry Law 3730).

Travel Safety

Sea voyages are governed by specific laws and regulations.

Passengers must comply with these as well as the instructions of the captain and crew. In case of non-compliance, the company may prohibit boarding the ship.

The company may inspect luggage and items carried by passengers for safety reasons.

Passengers transporting a weapon must declare it during boarding to the responsible ship officers.

Disembarkation after boarding the ship is only allowed after informing the responsible ship officers and obtaining their approval.

Dispute Resolution

For any dispute arising from the transport contract between the company and the passengers, the courts of Piraeus are designated as competent for resolution.
