Donousa
Donousa is one of the smallest Greek islands with only 130 inhabitans and three villages, (Stavros or Donoussa, Kalotaritissa, and Mersini). It is located in the south eastern side of the Cycladic complex, between Naxos and Amorgos. This island is the ideal destination for those who enjoy the nature and quiet beaches.
According to the myth, Dionysus hid Ariadne in Donousa so that Thiseas could not find her. Donoussa served as a Roman exile location in antiquity. Its isolated caves served as a shelter for pirates during the Medieval times. Vacation in Donousa is synonymous with relaxation by the sea, with clear blue waters in a breathtaking scenery.
Donousa is an ideal destination for trekkers. The island is perfect for walking due to its small size, where you can explore every corner on foot. Throughout the island, there are five marked hiking trails that connect several villages.
