Information about Piraeus
Piraeus serves more than 20 million passengers per year and is the largest port in Europe in terms of commercial traffic. In ancient times, Piraeus was hosting the fleet of Athens and all the naval expeditions would start from there.
The port fell in disuse in the centuries that followed, but started to develop since the 19th century. You will find departures to most of the Greek islands from here.
